In developing the LB companies, we strive to recruit and retain some of the most experienced personnel within the industry. All operatives hold valid CSCS/CPCS qualifications appropriate to their role and a continuous training programme allows us to develop and continually improve our workforce. Evidence of qualifications are made available to all clients prior to the commencement of works.

David MacColl BEng (hons) PgDIP
Scope of work: Following his graduation in 1990, David worked as an Engineer at Glensanda ‘super’ Quarry where he obtained a broad experience of all aspects of the operations. He then went on to work as a Senior Engineer with a national Civil Engineering Contractor progressed to Site Agent level.
In 1995, David joined a non-mechanical plant hire company as a Design Engineer, where he was responsible for temporary works design and maintenance of a fleet of ground support and shoring equipment. He then moved on to become Contracts Director with a piling sub-contractor where he had a ‘hands on’ approach to the works.
Following his establishment of LB Plant Hire and LB Foundations in 2004, David has continued to develop unique and creative solutions to his customer’s problems. His current role within LB is the management of LB Plant Hire and operations side of LB Foundations.

Chris Russell BSc (hons) CEng MICE
Scope of work: After graduation in 1988, Chris decided to work in consulting engineering where he gained experience in heavy industrial projects and marine civil engineering projects. He gain corporate membership of the ICE in 1997 and progress to the level of Senior Engineer.
In 2000, Chris joined a piling sub-contractor as Design Engineer where he added to his previous design experience of piling with more practical knowledge of the field, particularly temporary and permanent ground retention works. He progressed onto Contract Management within the firm.
In 2004, Chris jointly founded LB Foundations, where his main responsibility is for technical, financial and administrative matters. Chris also has input to the solutions and design aspects of the business.
